Aleja Ambasadora
Maureen Cormack, 2015. godina).

Ambassadors' Alley
In 2002, Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo launched a project to establish a linden tree alley with a unique name “Ambassadors ‘Alley”, at the popular pedestrian stretch Bentbaša- Dariva along the river Miljacka.
Ambassadors’Alley is a project in which ambassadors, serving in B&H as high officials of their representative countries or major international organizations, get an opportunity to plant a linden tree during their mission at the pedestrian stretch Bentbaša-Dariva. In front of every planted linden tree, a stone plate is installed containing the ambassador’s name, country or international organization that represents. After planting, the special certificate is awarded to the ambassadors which will remind them forever on the moment, but at the same time the certificate represents an invitation for the ambassadors to visit again Stari Grad Sarajevo after their mission in B&H terminates.
First linden tree was planted by the former High Representative Wolfgang Petritsch, and the second one by Jacques Paul Klein, former Head of United Nations Mission to B&H.
What some ambassadors said about the Ambassadors’ Alley:
“This area here really symbolizes the openness of Sarajevo to the rest of the world and its desire for cooperation with other countries. My planted linden tree here is a promise I will do my best that Sarajevo has a better cooperation with mine, but also with other world countries”. (Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Chen Bo, 2016)
“According to my knowledge, Sarajevo is the only city that offers ambassadors the possibility to have its own alley and to leave to the citizens something which will be visible after they leave. I am really happy I got an honor to become a part of this tradition in Stari Grad”. (Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Christiane Constanze Hohmann, 2016)
„In Brazil we say that a person had a true and proper life only if it had done these three things: wrote a book, had a child and planted a tree. In my case I only missed to plant a tree, so thank you for this opportunity“. (Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil, Manoel Gomes-Pereira, 2016)
„I wish this tree becomes a symbol of citizen's wellbeing, especially of young people. We pray that peace and wellbeing be with all citizens of this country and this city“. (Ambassador of the Vatican Holy See, Luigi Pezzuto, 2015)
„This is indeed an amazing tradition, because all those who planted a tree here will be returning to check how their tree is growing, even when they leave Sarajevo. Thank you very much, I will keep using this promenade and enjoy its beauty as many others who walk here often”. (Ambassador of the United States of America, Maureen Cormack, 2015)
